As Chief Brand Officer, I began by defining what Born Outside believed luxury should be. For a brand built by industry outsiders and rooted in Italian craft, luxury was less about status or price than the freedom to choose with clarity and confidence.
That belief gave the name its meaning. A born outsider doesn’t have to stand apart for the sake of it. They know their own perspective, remain open to the world and act on what feels right to them. We called that attitude Quiet Rebellion and made championing it the brand’s purpose.

The refreshed identity had to carry that idea without losing what made Born Outside recognisable. We refined the original wordmark and elevated the Globo into a central brand symbol: a meeting point between individual identity and a global outlook.
Around it, we developed a bold, fashion-forward system. Born Blue took its cue from the sky above us all, giving the brand a colour that could connect its personal point of view to a wider world.

The art direction brought Quiet Rebellion into the product imagery. Unexpected angles and expressive movement gave the sneakers personality, while off-white backgrounds and deep shadows kept attention on their shape, materials and Italian craft.
The same thinking guided the 2026 brand book and brand bible, along with linesheet templates and investor presentations. Each piece needed to feel unmistakably Born Outside while working for a different audience and purpose.
For the social relaunch, we defined a way to use AI in support of the brand’s creative direction. Every idea had to answer three questions: Is it unexpected? Is it confident? Is it grounded?
Those rules helped us make content that felt quietly rebellious without losing the detail and credibility a luxury footwear brand depends on.

Finally, we rebuilt the e-commerce experience around the same attitude. A navigation occupying half the screen and the absence of an obvious wordmark were deliberate choices, confident enough to let the product, imagery and composition speak first.
Together, the strategy, identity and digital experience gave Born Outside a clearer way to express who it was and the freedom to keep evolving.
